Genre: YA Fantasy

Synopsis: Ziva may have defeated the deadly warlord Kymora, but the price was too high. Her sister's life is at stake due to the last battle and Ziva is forced into a tight race with the handsome mercenary Kellyn and the young scholar Petrick to find a magical healer in a nearby city. However, on their journey, Ziva and Kellyen are captured by an ambitious prince. Ziva is forced into the same situation she was fleeing from, magicking dangerous weapons for world domination. The forge used to be the place where Ziva felt the safest, hiding away from the world because of her anxiety. Now this same place is her prison and she is not sure how much of herself she'll have to sacrifice to save Kellyn before she is front and center of the war she tried to stop.
Review: This book is the perfect ending to this duology. There was nonstop action and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time reading. The novel picks up right where the last one ended so there is no time jump or pause in between. During this time the characters need to stick together more than ever to defeat their new enemy and it is so exciting to read about. Ziva and Kellyn's relationship also develops in this book. Ziva has to overcome her anxiety and be an equal partner for Kellyn and it shows her bravery. This duology is the perfect way for people to start reading fantasy. The writing is very easy to read and the plot does not get confusing.
